Several passports of family members in one application

Hi,
I just asked a question on official website but then it told me on success that it will take 15 working days to get a reply. I was wondering if anyone has already experience of following couple of questions.

I'm in no rush to get those passports and that is why not wishing to pay for check and send as I checked with them they will charge for individual passports.

Hi Authorities,
I noticed that on the official passport application envelop it is written that “If you are applying for several passports at the same time, please send all applications in one envelope.” I’ve couple of questions with regards to that
I’ve to send 3 applications 2 for my sons and 1 for me. The questions are
1. Should I fill only one combined fee form or I’ve to fill 3 separate fee forms and If I’m paying by cheque then Should I just make one cheque for combine fee or individual cheques?
2. And do I’ve to pay 3 times for the secure delivery for the return of supporting documents or 1 time is fine as this will be a combined application?
Thanks

Following is the reply I received, Posting here so that it may help someone else

If you are sending more than one application at the same time it is perfectly acceptable to send them all in one envelope (maximum of five in one envelope).

However, please be aware that they will still be treated as separate applications, therefore the passports and documents will not be sent back together, and the fee for each separate application still applies.

You can make one combined payment via either credit/debit card for the total amount for all applications. If you are requesting the secure delivery for your supporting documents, it is £3 per application being submitted.
